I am lucky enough to live in the North End (at least until next August). During the warmer months I am able to step out of my front door and run through the city. Back in Atlanta, I had a choice of running next to mini-malls or in neighborhoods. In Boston, I have the choice of running by Paul Revere's Historic house, the ocean, or a skyscraper....I think those are pretty nice choices! During a more relaxed jog one Saturday, I took some pictures along the way.
I do love running outside but with a longer winter season up here it can be more painful than enjoyable (even in November). It is hard to get up to go outside when you look out the window and see a gray sky and the leaves blowing away. For this very reason, Paul and I recently joined a gym (BSC - much like LA Fitness back home). I went to my second spin class this morning at 6:30 - it was a chilly 32 degrees outside. In my opinion, walking to my car in that weather (and turning on my heat and seat heaters) is better than running a few miles in it!
Happy Hump Day everyone - hope the weather is nice wherever you are!
