Christmas Day Paul and I left Boston (after spending Christmas morning at his parents) and flew out to meet my family in Vail, CO. I had only skiied once before when I was 14 - we took a family trip to Breckenridge.
Much to my surprise - and I think Paul's as well - I absolutely LOVED skiing!! It is a great work out all while being on the side of an enormous mountain. I do have to admit that I cried once - my boots were killing me and I just got overwhelmed after making it down the trail. Paul gently told me he would fix them and then told me there was no crying in skiing and later reminded me I am 24 not 4...it was tough love to say the least! I eventually sucked it up and kept going. :)
While I had my new camera on this trip, I obviously couldn't take it down the mountain with me - so unfortunately these pics are from my standard digital camera. Luckily, Vail is so beautiful on it's own, even my regular camera was able to capture it pretty well.
{on the top of Vail - I love the cloud in the background}
{beaver creek for a day}
{Anna and I - she is quite the snowboarder}
{new goggles for Christmas and a great hooded jacket}
{on top of Beaver Creek - anyone notice Paul is on a snowboard?}
{snowed all day}
{Paul on his telemark skiis}
{bottom of Vail - right before heading up to go tubing}
{mom and mammie came into town for the day/night}
{right before heading down the back bowls with amazing views}
{Evan, Paul, and I were 10th in line the last day}
{Carson really took to skiing too - actually left me behind on one run}
{backside of the mountain}
{there was so much terrain on the bowls - I actually got lost}
Today, Paul and I are snowed in due to the 12+ inches in Boston. I am loving it! Paul is heading to the gym after shoveling a ton of snow... I am going to cook/bake and watch the movie The Girl Who Played With Fire (I've read the book and Paul hasn't).
I hope you all have a great Wednesday!
