During the regular week I will help the girls color and occasionally paint, but that’s about the extent of our crafting. I’d rather be gardening or cooking with them. But during the holiday season, I start to have my hot glue gun on hand; the Holidays manage to bring it out the “crafty mom” in me!
I’ve noticed my style of crafting is more styling or elevating, rather than creating something from scratch. Enter Halloween Potion making and BOOzy BOO’ing!
I’ve seen the “you’ve been BOOzed” floating around on social media, in my feed it was from @themamanotes. When I saw the pom-pom gift bows at target, and then the spooky themed red wine at Trader Joe’s, I knew it was something I could manage. Basically just styled gift wrapping - which I enjoy!
I found the potion bottles for $1 each on the end of a Target aisle, and the potion ingredients (sparkles and googly eyes, etc) in the dollar section. I scooped up a few red gatorades in the check out line and voila - I’m a crafty mom!! This weekend, I’m going to have the kids add the different “ingredients” to the potion bottles, add gatorade as the liquid, and then write out the potion recipe and how to use it (in an attempt to extend the craft).
Hope you were inspired by my semi-crafting activities. I’ve included as many links as possible at the end of this post!
